" It's odd how a terrible event in ones' life can turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

When we returned home from holiday in the summer of 1995, we were horrified to find that our house had been completely ransacked. Many of our possessions had gone - heirlooms, family keepsakes - and the chaos was indescribable.

Like anyone else who has been burgled, we were shocked and angry. In fact, thanks to some good Police work, we got back most of what had been stolen, but that didn't diminish our determination to make sure that it would not happen again.

We had very kind neighbours looking after the house, popping in and picking up the mail and turning lights on and shutting curtains, but as we all know, empty houses are a gift to burglars, and having a house sitter would have been the perfect answer (especially as our dogs would have been much happier at home).

So, this is how the Home Service came into existence and now, with a long list of regular clients throughout the UK (and overseas), who can say how many people we have saved from going through the awful distress we experienced all those years ago? "
